• Face the loss

• Let your pain out: Allow yourself to cry, or find an outlet without harming anyone or anything, including yourself

• Share your feelings with an understanding friend

• Get professional help, like counselling

• Allow enough time to let the pain out and heal

• Then start shifting away from the sadness, for instance, by focusing on things that bring you joy

• Find delight in beautiful days, experiences and people
